About Me.

2023NatPupConf_599-(ZF-7416-75207-1-003)

I love to play with form in performance.  Tell a story in the most intriguing and powerful visual manner possible.

I have a fine arts degree in Theater/Directing with additional studies in Set Design, Television Production and Art History.  Worked with Broadway designer Bill Eckert (Mame, Damn Yankees, Mattress) and interned with Bob Banner (The Carol Burnett Show, Solid Gold, Starsearch) in television production.  Have designed sets and costumes for live and recorded performance, from theater to opera.  Have some awards for that.

Have a graduate certificate from NYU in Arts Administration.  Often consult with small arts organizations for various and sundry.

Managed the creation of a theater in a warehouse so Carnegie Hall could do "West Side Story" with a cast of almost 300.  That was fun.

As a Creative Director,  Brand Strategist and Multicultural Communication Consultant have created visual animated wonders for the NASDAQ tower in Times Square and effective HIV testing strategies in Ethiopia. Developed materials in 8 languages and for various cultures.  Have some awards for that.

I have directed over a hundred live stage shows as well as videos, from Shakespeare to company devised work.  I act when required and can do a good job in the right role.

I have educated folk from 7 to 70 in a wide variety of settings including resident theater, inner-city summer camps and as college visiting artist/faculty.  Also as guest professional at Atlanta's Dragon Con served as puppetry panelist on a wide variety of topics, including design and education.

Three time National Puppetry Conference participant.

Puppet designer and/or fabricator for others when the wind is right.

Features writer for The Puppetry Journal, the national publication of Puppeteers of America, from time to time.

Danced in the BAM Next Wave Festival and got my picture in New York Magazine Fall Arts Preview.  That was fun.

Served as Founding Chair of the City of Beacon's Arts and Cultural Development Committee and drafted their first Public Art Ordinance and Public Art Masterplan.  Also produced several public art projects.

Have done culturally based community events from large music festivals to curated craft fairs.  Have won some awards for that.

I wrote a musical, among other things.  Cause I'm focused like that.

And I actually do smile just noticed all my pics had me being super serious, I swear I'm not.  No, really!
